HOT! Rainbow Foods Unlimited Doubles

PrintFriendly and PDF

Heads up!  This just in and it is totally unbelievable!  You would have NEVER of guess it in a  million years!  ***I don’t know if this is true for Copps and Pick N Save, but I will ask***

Rainbow Foods is going to have unlimited doubles on Wednesday Oct 24 and Oct 31.  There are a few rules though that we need to follow as this is just a test.

  1. You do have to have a $25 purchase, but that won’t be hard with unlimited doubles
  2. $1 and under coupons will double
  3. You are limited to just 5 of the SAME coupon PER HOUSEHOLD per DAY, which means that you can’t send your kids/ husband  in another line with coupons.   They also said that you are not suppose to go in and leave the store and come back inside to use another of the same 5 coupon.  They said that the cashiers can deny you using the same 5 coupons again.  Here is an example of the 5 coupons per household, per day rule:5  $1/1 Peanut Butter coupons = buy 5 Peanut Butters
    5  .50/1 Bread coupons = buy 5 Breads
    5  $1/4 Soup coupons = buy 20 Soups
5  .50/2 Spaghetti Sauce coupons = buy 10 Spaghetti Sauce
    5 .40/3 Soup coupons = buy 15 soups
  4. The registers will stop you at 100 coupons. So that means you can have 20 different kinds of coupons with a max of 5 each.  Of course if you have only 4 of each coupon, then you can have 25 different kinds of coupons.

Make sense?  Ask any questions and I will be happy to answer them for you.

AWESOME! Please tell us when you hear that this is really going to happen … I would think that a notice would also be in our Sunday paper????

    • Karen says:

Lisamarie…It is happening Oct 24 and 31. Not always a notice in the Sunday paper and they just found out about it yesterday. You will hear radio announcements.

  2. Jill says:

MY store manager called me and explained the new limit is 5 of the same BRAND. Basically, you can use 5 Nabisco coupons per household, per day. (You cannot use 5 nabisco cookie coupons and 5 nabisco cracker coupons in the same day)

    • Karen says:

I don’t think that is correct. I will double check.

    • anita says:

this is what I was trying to refer to when I posted about P&G. Half the time when I use a deodorant coupon it comes takes the amount off as shampoo?? I have had this hapen all the time with p&G products both at rainbow and kmart.

      • Karen says:

Yeah…there is register logic involved in that and that happens at most stores including Target too. You have to be sure that the items in a bogo are up front before the other items and the coupon should take off the correct amount. IF not…be sure to correct it.

      • David says:

Hi – can you please explain a bit more what you mean? Are you saying you can use a P&G deodorant coupon on a P&G shampoo product? Thanks

        • Karen says:

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

You need to buy the product that the coupon is for or you can be arrested for coupon fraud. It is also dishonest and stealing. In fact someone who was filmed for Extreme Couponing is now under investigation and possibly arrested by now for trying to do this.

What I am saying is that coupons can attach themselves to other items in a transaction at times.

  3. Pat says:

That is great news! Is there a list of items that will be free/close to free after doubling (even at their regular price)? I know their ads for those weeks are not out yet…

  4. Jackie says:

Thanks Karen! I am going to do a trip before work! :) I imagine this would be a relief to a lot of the cashiers who put up with us who do multiple transactions. I like to be good about it and will only do 1 or 2 transactions at a time, but even then if there is a long line (like there ALWAYS is at my Rainbow), this will make it go by much faster! If this succeeds, I would be very appreciative and I hope everyone plays by the rules! :)

Also, I’ve noticed that when they do special announcements like this (like when they add a double double after the ad has been printed), they also put it on their website :)

I am just jumping for joy right now! :) Going to get an early start on filling up my winter pantry!

    • Karen says:

You’re welcome. Since the news just came out yesterday to all store managers, I am sure that corporate will have something up as soon as they want to get it up. They should also have radio announcements also.

  5. suzanne says:

So this doesn’t apply to copps n pick n save

  6. Becky says:

Question, can we do multiple transactions if we don’t go over the 5 like coupon rule?

    • Karen says:

They are trying to cut down on multiple transactions hence the one transaction per household per day rule. It will all depend on how strict your store is going to be on that. Ask your personal store how picky they are going to be as each store tends to make up their own rules to the rules.
