More Kids Movie Deals for Summer

Today is a scorcher and I’m sure that you are thinking just do something with air conditioning today.  Check out the movie theaters below and see if one of them has a cheap or free movie to see this week.

Regal Summer Movie Express $1 movies

***A little late for today, but it is a heads up for Wednesday.***

Moviegoers of all ages can climb aboard to enjoy a great selection of films. During this 9-week festival, select Regal Cinemas, United Artists and Edwards Theatres will offer selected G or PG rated movies for only a dollar on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:00am.  From what I have seen, this program starts in June.

Check to see if you have one near you HERE.  For those of us in MN, there aren’t any listed.

Lowes Build N Grow: Kung Fu Panda Spinning Attack

Your child’s favorite movie characters are back at Lowe’s this weekend! Bring your child to Lowe’s and they can master building and Kung Fu with this weekend’s project; Kung Fu Panda Spinning Attack!

Head to Lowes to make the Kung Fu Panda Spinning Attack on Saturday, July 14 from 10-11 am or Sunday, July 15  from 2-3 pm. You do need to sign up for this at Lowes.com.

National Park: No Entrance Fee June 9th

Doing anything fun on Saturday, June 9? Head to your nearest National Park and pay no entrance fee as it is Get Outdoors Day.

Kids Skate Free for the Summer

See if there is a local skating place is offering 2 FREE skating passes each week for the summer.  There is only one in MN right now in Woodbury, but you can print out a letter and bring it to any other skating place to see if they will participate.

Chuck E Cheese Reading Program

Here is another reading program for the summer from Chuck E. Cheese .  Get 10 FREE tokens every time your child reads for 2 weeks in a row.  Your child keeps track on the form which you will need to bring in to get your 10 tokens.

**Don’t forget to bring in your child’s report card as you get tokens for A’s and B’s or the equivalent.

Books A Million Reading Program 2012

Join Books A Million for Dr. Seuss Storytime as they kick off the 2012 Reading Program at Books-A-Million this Saturday, May 19 at 10:00 am! Get a free cookie with drink purchase during storytime!

You also can get a FREE Dr Seuss Insulated Lunchbox by participating in the summer reading program.

Go on a Camping Trip! No experience…no problem!

Some of the most fun that we have had with our kids is going camping.  Not everyone knows where to start when it comes to knowing what to do to have a great time camping.  NOW you CAN!  Read on about a program that is offered at the MN State Parks:

Want to go on a camping trip with your family, but aren’t sure you really know how? Attend a one- or two-night I Can Camp! overnight program offered at Minnesota State Parks this summer and learn all the skills you’ll need for a lifetime of camping fun — no experience necessary!

The fee for the camp is $35 for one night and $50 for two nights.  I had a friend who is a single mom who did this with her son and they LOVED it! Check out the other programs you can do too.

Barnes & Noble FREE Summer Reading Program 2012

Your child can earn a FREE Book with the Barnes & Noble FREE Summer Reading Program.  You child will read any 8 books and record them in the Reading Journal (found on the site).  Then they can choose a FREE Book from the Barnes & Noble list when they turn in their completed journal at a local Barnes & Noble.

Summer Reading Programs

Summertime is just around the corner and there are summer reading programs that you can get your child involved in.  It’s always a good idea to call to confirm participation!  Please let me know if you know of others.

Barnes & Noble Imagination Destination - This summer reading program through Barnes & Noble gives your child the ability to earn a FREE book after reading 8 books and keeping track of them in a reading log.

Book Adventure - Sylvan offers this FREE reading incentive program. Basically your child reads books and then takes a simple comprehension quiz to make sure they understood what they read.  The quiz is usually about 10 questions long.  They earn points based on how much they remember from reading the book.

There are hundreds of books to choose from in all reading levels.  These are common books that can be found at your local library.  Once they have earned enough points they can trade them in for some really neat prizes! [Read more...]

Como Zoo FREE Lil’ Explorer Thursdays

Kids Bowl FREE at AMF for the Summer

This is an awesome program that kids 15 and under can bowl for free all summer. Simply register at AMF.com and you’ll get a weekly voucher for two free games per child per day through September 3.  Shoe rental is not included.

Your child can bowl free until 8 pm, 7 days a week and it starts May 14 and goes through Sept 3, 2012.

Listen up Parents and kids 16 and over!  You can get an AMF Summer Pass for just $29.95.  Just one AMF Summer Pass allows up to four adults ages 16 and up to bowl two games per day all summer.  That’s less than $7.50 per person! You can add a pass at the end of the Summer Unplugged registration process.

Home Depot – Saturday 9am-Noon, Free Kids Workshop: build a pencil box.

Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft Stores - Saturday 11am-1pm Provo Craft Cricut Machine Bookmark Make It-Take It. 1-3pm Provo Craft Cricut Machine Demo. 3-5pm Tulip Body Art Face & Body Paint Make It-Take It (For ages 12 & older).

Lakeshore Learning – Saturday 11am-3pm, Space Craft: kids create colorful space scenes with scratch-through rainbow paper.
